I believe a teacher is a mentor. Someone to help guide you in the right direction. Someone who will point out your flaws and help you fix them, turning them into strengths.
I had very little growing up, I started thinking that I couldn’t amount to anything. I thought that I was just going through life disappointed and sad. Then one day a teacher told me I could be anything. I could be happy and move up in the world. So I tried. I tried, I tried and I tried. The teachers in my life kept insisting to never give up and when the going gets tough, remember you are fighting for a better tomorrow.
A better tomorrow. That’s why I teach, To let students know that there is a better tomorrow for them. To shoot for it, To strive for it. Think of everyone you’ll help along the way, all the lives you will impact. You have a dream and goal so use today to help you accomplish it, so tomorrow will be a better day.
